At Preferred Physical Therapy, our conservative approach allows for successful rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment programs are designed to meet the specific rehabilitation needs of the individual. This will enable the patient to return to maximum performance in work, athletics, and everyday activities.
We offer prompt scheduling, flexible hours, and comprehensive insurance participation. Our highly trained, dedicated physical therapists work to improve your overall health and well-being with careful evaluations and individualized specific treatment programs.
Who We Are
Advanced Physical Therapy and Preferred Physical Therapy are one and the same. We are a locally owned outpatient physical therapy company that started back in 2004 in Wichita by three friends, Derry Larson, Brad Dopps, and David Todd. Our company started physical therapy clinics in the Wichita and surrounding areas as Advanced Physical Therapy and moved up into the Kansas City and surrounding areas as Preferred Physical Therapy. Over the years, we have expanded to include both specialties of physical therapy and occupational therapy. Although we have two names, our company has the same overall vision to build relationships for life and improve the wellness of the communities we serve.
Meet our CEO: David Todd, PT, MPT
David Todd chose physical therapy as his profession because he has a passion for helping people. He graduated from Wichita State University with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2002, he then co-founded Advanced and Preferred Physical Therapy in 2004. His daily focus on quality, service, and relationships has helped him help grow Advanced and Preferred Physical Therapy to 29 clinics. David strives to continue to be educated to meet the needs of today and the future for Advanced, Preferred, and his team. He focuses on leading others to help them succeed and work through their day to day struggles. David does his part to be a good steward in the communities we live and work in. He has a wife, Missy, and three daughters, Grace, Emma & Sophie. His hobbies consist of pickleball, sporting clays, wining and dining at the barn, and lake time at Grand Lake!
Heather at Preferred Physical Therapy is the best therapist I have ever had. That would make her number one out of six! She explains why you need to do various things which really helps. I can definitely walk better and it hurts less because of her!
CarolynWhen I started, I could not walk or stand very long. I still have some weakness in my left leg, but can stand and walk a lot longer. Hopefully with more exercise, I will not have the pain I get in my lower back and left leg/foot.
JohnWhen I started therapy the pain was consistent and it restricted my life and work. With therapy and the help of Randi, I can now function. I am able to be out of the house and fully do my job. My pain has been cut down to a third of what it was.
StefanieTherapy went well. I have a lot more freedom of movement and no pain. They are a great group of people!!
CoryBegan PT with significant neck pain, contemplating the possibility of surgery. I now have significant relief, with great range of motion both horizontal and vertical direction. Additionally, teaching me things I an do at home has resulted in continued range of motion and comfort.
ClydeI walked into the clinic thinking surgery was my only option to get my should working again. I was given several exercises and stretches to do and I am now able to use my arm at 100% range of motion. They worked magic, I can’t believe how good it feels to be able to use my arm again and was all accomplished without surgery. I would and I do recommend Preferred Physical Therapy to take care of PT issues. Eleven stars! Three thumbs up!
