Here’s to 14 Years!

The beginning of April marked Advanced and Preferred Physical Therapy’s 14th year of business. We can honestly say it has been a great pleasure to get to know every one of our patients since we opened and we are excited to see what the future holds for us. In honor of the occasion, we thought we would share with you our beginning, our achievements, and what we are doing to continue to provide quality service to you and your families.

Everything began over fourteen years ago when David Todd started to discuss the idea of creating his own physical therapy company. His goal was to enhance the overall health, fitness, and quality of life of his patients through high quality, individualized treatment. The concept became a reality on April 1st, 2004 when David along with his business partners, Brad Dopps and Darry Larson, opened the first official Advanced Physical Therapy clinic. David was the only physical therapist at the clinic when we began, but the company has quickly grown to accommodate the needs of Wichita, Kansas City, and surrounding areas.

Advanced and Preferred Physical Therapy has since expanded to include 20 different locations across the state of Kansas and now employs over 200 people. Through our continued commitment to employee satisfaction, the company received recognition as one of the best places to work in Wichita in 2016. The Wichita Business Journal recognized our company for being the best in the business and David has been named as one of Wichita’s Top CFOs in 2017. David has stated that employee satisfaction yields patient satisfaction, and contributes this to the companies overall growth and success.

Advanced and Preferred Physical Therapy is different than other healthcare facilities for many reasons. First, our employees are focused on individualized, one on one treatment of our patients. We make a point not only to get to know what is causing their pain but also to get to know them on a personal level. Secondly, we offer unique treatment options such as Astym, dry needling, traction, aquatic therapy, as well as many others to provide every opportunity for their patients to succeed. Lastly, our employees try to make every patient they treat feel special. When patients first walk in, the front desk greets them with a smile, coffee, and cookies before being seen by their therapist. From there, patients receive a specialized treatment plan and can be involved in clinic events and activities like March Madness brackets, cookie exchanges, and insightful fact boards that make them feel like they are part of the family. Finally, when patients have achieved their health goals, our staff rewards patients a shirt as a graduation gift. All of these factors and more have helped our company grow into what it is today.
